MIDDLEBOROUGH — Chief Joseph Perkins reports that the Middleborough Police Department arrested a man in connection with a bank robbery last weekend.
STEVEN M. CERQUEIRA, AGE 36, MOST RECENTLY OF STOUGHTON was arrested today on a warrant for Unarmed Robbery.
At approximately 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, Middleborough Police responded to Santander Bank, 77 Center St., for a report of a bank robbery.
A white male, identified as CERQUEIRA through a subsequent investigation, allegedly entered the bank and passed a note to the teller demanding money. CERQUEIRA then fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash
No injuries were reported in the incident.
Police subsequently obtained a warrant for CERQUEIRA’S arrest, and he turned himself into Stoughton Police Monday afternoon.
CERQUEIRA is expected to be arraigned tomorrow in Wareham District Court.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
