Middleborough Police Charge Woman with Breaking Into Home

MIDDLEBOROUGH — Chief Joseph Perkins reports that Middleborough Police have arrested and charged a woman with breaking into a home earlier today.

KRISTIN CHASE, AGE 41, OF MIDDLEBOROUGH was charged with:

  • Breaking and Entering into a Building in the Daytime for a Felony
  • Trespassing
  • Malicious Destruction of Property Under $250
  • Larceny from a Building

At approximately 10 a.m. today, Middleborough Police responded to a home on West Street after a resident called to report that a woman he did not know was inside of his home with a dog. The woman had subsequently left the caller’s house with the dog and was walking down the street.

Upon arrival, a construction worker near the victim’s home directed officers to 89 West St., where the woman, later identified as CHASE, had just entered.

Officers went to the house and knocked on the door and eventually CHASE went outside to speak with the officers.

Through the subsequent investigation, CHASE was positively identified as the woman who was inside the man’s house and she was placed under arrest.

The investigation further showed that a 12-inch slice had been made in the front screen door of the victim’s home, which had been locked. It is believed that CHASE allegedly accessed the victim’s home through the front door.

While being booked at the Middleborough Police station, it was discovered that CHASE had multiple rings in her pockets that had been reported stolen from the victim’s house.

The rings were recovered and returned to the victim.

CHASE is expected to be arraigned today at Wareham District Court.

These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
